The Conjuring House Goes on Sale, A Haunted Legacy Hits the Auction Block This Halloween

Do we dare to whisper it? This October 31, on the spookiest night of the year, the infamous Rhode Island farmhouse that inspired The Conjuring is officially going up for auction.

The 3,000 square-foot, 14-room Burrillville, Rhode Island farmhouse, immortalized in the 2013 horror hit, is set for auction via JJManning Auctioneers on Halloween morning at 11 a.m.  Auctioneer Justin J. Manning admits this sale is already attracting more attention than any property they’ve sold, including historical icons like Susan B. Anthony’s birthplace.

Built in 1736, the house became world-famous for paranormal activity tied to the alleged spirit of Bathsheba Sherman, a haunting that inspired The Conjuring film and countless whispers. Its recent owner, Jacqueline Nuñez, purchased the house in 2022 and turned it into a ghost-tour hotspot. But after losing her entertainment license amid legal and safety concerns, and battling financial woes, the house is now up for foreclosure.

Paranormal Patrons Line Up-

Spectral real estate enthusiasts, builders, developers, and true believers, are expected to arrive, bidding for the chance to own this haunted slice of cinematic lore. Meanwhile, comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee, already guardians of the Warrens’ Occult Museum featuring the Annabelle doll, are reportedly considering a bid to preserve the haunting heritage.

Why This Matters, Even to Non-Believers-

This isn’t just another Halloween plot twist, it’s a real-life blend of horror history, folklore, and prime real estate. A haunted relic is about to change hands under the cold eye of the auction block. Whether you’re drawn by the legends or just seeking the creepiest neighbour on the block, this farmhouse offers more than a place to live, it sells a legacy of spine-tingling lore.

Auction Date: October 31, 2025- 11 a.m.

Location: Burrillville, Rhode Island
