LATEST HORROR NEWS: THE METAL IS BACK! DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON INVADES FANTASTIC FEST!

Headline: A Blood-Soaked Triumph for the Misfits and Headbangers

The mosh pit of mayhem has officially opened! The world premiere of DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON at Fantastic Fest today has been met with uproarious applause from a crowd of enthusiastic horror and heavy metal fans. This long-awaited sequel, directed by Jason Lei Howden, is more than just a follow-up; it’s a love letter to its fanbase, which helped bring the movie to life.

More Gore, More Metal, More Mayhem

Goremageddon picks up a few years after the first film, with our favorite metalhead misfit, Brodie (Milo Cawthorne), now a washed-up musician. To win back his love Medina (Kimberley Crossman) and get his life back on track, he decides to reform his band, Deathgasm, for a local battle-of-the-bands competition. There’s just one problem: his bandmates are all dead. But with the help of the mystical Black Hymn, Brodie resurrects them, unleashing a new wave of apocalyptic chaos.

The sequel has promised to deliver on the original’s formula but on a much grander, bloodier scale. As director Jason Lei Howden stated, the film is “twice as vulgar” as the first one. Producers have described the sequel as a “party movie, pure and simple, made to be watched with mates, mayhem, and at maximum volume.”

A Universe of Terror and a Skull-Shattering Soundtrack

The film expands the original’s lore with a prequel graphic novel and even a 16-bit video game that bridges the gap between the two movies. This dedication to building a larger “Deathgasm universe” shows how seriously the creative team takes its cult following.

The film’s soundtrack is just as epic as the action on screen. It features the original score from Matthew Kiichi Heafy, the frontman of Trivium, who is a self-professed fan of the original film. The soundtrack is also packed with tracks from metal legends and modern heavyweights, including:

• Anvil

• GWAR

• Sanguisugabogg

• Frozen Soul

• Skinless

• Havok

The film is set to continue its festival tour at Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and Monster Fest before its wider release, promising a glorious celebration of gore and guitars for fans across the globe.
