Exclusive Look: Diabolic Brings Ritual Horror and Possession to Screens This Week

A new supernatural horror film rooted in religious extremism and occult fear is arriving this week. Diabolic, directed by Daniel J. Phillips, is beginning its release rollout with an exclusive clip and early critical reactions ahead of its theatrical debut.

The newly released clip, offers a tense glimpse into the film’s ritual-driven horror, teasing a disturbing confrontation shaped by belief, isolation, and spiritual manipulation. The footage leans heavily into the atmosphere, building dread through symbolic imagery and restrained performances rather than outright spectacle.

Set against the backdrop of a fundamentalist religious community, Diabolic explores themes of possession and psychological control, placing its story within the tradition of occult horror that examines how faith can become a weapon. The film draws inspiration from real-world religious extremism, using that framework to heighten its sense of unease and emotional intensity.

Early reviews have started to land as well. AIPT Comics described the film as “an unsettling watch,” praising its creeping tension and ritualistic imagery, while noting that its strongest moments come from quiet psychological pressure rather than overt scares.

The film stars Elizabeth Cullen in the lead role, alongside John Harlan Kim and Mia Challis. Cullen anchors the story with a grounded performance that gives emotional weight to the film’s darker supernatural turns, providing a human center amid escalating paranoia and spiritual terror.

Diabolic is scheduled for select theatrical release on February 13, 2026, followed by an On Demand launch on February 20, 2026, allowing audiences to experience the film either in cinemas or at home shortly after.

As it enters its release window, Diabolic stands out among early-year horror offerings for its blend of religious dread, ritual imagery, and intimate character focus. For fans of possession stories that favor atmosphere over excess, this is one to watch closely.
