Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell Receives R Rating Ahead of Summer Release

Nicolas Winding Refn’s long-awaited return to filmmaking is almost here, and the film will arrive with an R rating.

Her Private Hell, the upcoming sci-fi horror thriller from the Drive director, has officially been rated R by the Motion Picture Association. The rating cites strong and bloody violence, sexual content, and language.

The movie stars Sophie Thatcher, Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Kristine Froseth, and Dougray Scott. Set in a futuristic city covered by a mysterious fog, the story follows several characters whose lives become connected to a deadly and unexplained force.

The film premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Early reactions praised Refn’s striking visuals and his blend of horror, science fiction, and surreal storytelling. Many critics described the film as unsettling, stylish, and difficult to forget.
