NEON has released a haunting new poster for the upcoming supernatural horror film Leviticus, and the movie is already building serious buzz among horror fans after its strong festival reactions earlier this year.
Directed by Adrian Chiarella, Leviticus follows two teenage boys trying to escape a violent supernatural entity that takes the form of the person they desire most: each other. The emotionally charged premise immediately helped the film stand out during its Sundance premiere, where critics praised its mix of queer romance, psychological horror, and unsettling supernatural tension.
The film stars Joe Bird, best known for Talk to Me, alongside Stacy Clausen, with supporting performances from Mia Wasikowska and Ewen Leslie. Early reviews described the movie as both deeply heartbreaking and genuinely disturbing, with many critics highlighting the chemistry between the two leads as the emotional core holding the horror together.
Leviticus blends coming-of-age drama with supernatural terror instead of treating the horror elements separately. The entity haunting the boys functions almost like a manifestation of repression, fear, and forbidden desire, giving the film a much heavier emotional atmosphere than a typical monster movie.
The newly released poster leans fully into that eerie tone, teasing a dark and intimate kind of horror rather than flashy jump-scare chaos. It feels much closer to modern psychological horror like It Follows or Talk to Me than traditional studio supernatural films.
Leviticus arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026 from NEON, and based on the early reactions so far, this could quietly become one of the most emotionally devastating horror movies of the summer.
