Resident Evil opens in 17 days and Regal just revealed the official popcorn container, except it’s not a bucket. It’s an organ transplant bag. Naturally.
Regal Cinemas just unveiled the Resident Evil Organ Transplant Popcorn Bag, a large popcorn bag designed to look like a medical organ transport container. It comes with large popcorn. Heart not included. It’s available exclusively at Regal theaters when you see the film. Tickets are on sale now at regmovies.com.
Regal also dropped brand new IMAX, ScreenX, and 4DX posters alongside the bag reveal, all available to view now.
As for the film itself, director Zach Cregger just told Empire Magazine exactly what to expect, and he did not hold back, “Resident Evil is definitely the most violent thing I’ve done. You gotta go grotesque! I wanted to go all the way. So it’s gnarly. It’s brutal. A very bloody affair.” He also clarified the film’s approach to the franchise mythology, “Fleshing out what the Umbrella Corporation is up to and how the T-virus works, that’s not what this movie is. This movie is about one dude’s journey on foot, fighting monsters. I don’t give a fuck about checking boxes. All I cared about was just telling a fun story. We step on the gas at about eight minutes in and never take our foot off the floor.”
Austin Abrams plays Bryan, a medical courier caught in a nonstop fight for survival across one horrifying night in Raccoon City. Zach Cherry (Severance), Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country), Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), and Johnno Wilson (Twisted Metal) round out the cast.
Resident Evil opens in theaters and IMAX on September 18, 2026.
