A Quiet Place Part III Has Officially Begun Filming Ahead of Summer 2027 Release

The next chapter in one of modern horror’s biggest franchises is now officially in production. A Quiet Place Part III has begun filming, with creator John Krasinski confirming the start of production through social media this weekend.

Krasinski returns to write, direct, and produce the sequel, continuing the main Abbott family storyline that began with 2018’s A Quiet Place and expanded further in A Quiet Place Part II. The upcoming film is currently scheduled to release in theaters on July 30, 2027.

Returning cast members include Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and Cillian Murphy, whose character Emmett became a major part of the franchise during the second film. The sequel will also introduce several new additions to the series, including Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian.

Plot details are still being kept tightly under wraps, but the film is expected to continue exploring the aftermath of the alien invasion introduced in the original movies. A Quiet Place Part II ended with the surviving characters discovering new ways to fight back against the creatures, opening the door for the franchise to evolve beyond pure survival horror.

The franchise has quietly become one of Paramount’s most valuable horror properties. Between the two mainline films and the 2024 prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, the series has generated nearly $900 million worldwide, making it one of the most successful horror franchises of the last decade.

What makes the series stand out is how much of its horror comes from restraint rather than spectacle. Silence, tension, and family dynamics have always been central to the films, helping the franchise separate itself from more action-heavy alien invasion stories.

There’s also growing curiosity around how large Part III will feel compared to the earlier entries. Day One expanded the universe by showing the invasion in New York City, while the ending of Part II hinted that the survivors may finally begin pushing back against the creatures instead of simply hiding from them.

For now, production is officially underway, and the return of Krasinski alongside the core cast signals that Paramount is treating A Quiet Place Part III as the true continuation fans have been waiting for.
