Lauren LaVera has officially signed on to star in the upcoming survival horror thriller Man or Bear, according to the recent reports. The project is currently being introduced to international buyers at the Cannes Film Market.
LaVera is best known for playing Sienna Shaw in Damien Leone’s Terrifier franchise, where she became one of the central figures of the series opposite David Howard Thornton’s Art the Clown. Her performance in Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 helped establish her as a recurring presence in modern independent horror.
Man or Bear is being produced by filmmaking collective The Coven, which has been involved in multiple recent indie genre productions. The movie is described as a survival horror thriller set in the wilderness, though specific story details are currently being kept under wraps.
The project joins a growing lineup of independent horror titles being presented at this year’s Cannes Film Market, where genre films continue to play a major role in international sales and distribution deals.
